'Steam in Action' has been launched!   'Steam in Action' (S.I.A) is a new international initiative dedicated to the
preservation of South African's very unique, characterful Steam Railway heritage before the fires of South African Steam go out for ever.

Reefsteamers Association (That's us!) ,  Sandstone Heritage Trust  and  Friends of the Rail  have teamed together to present a national,
coordinated front for Steam Preservaton and Operation.  (Other active Steam and Rail groups are welcome to join.)  S.I.A. seek the advice
and support of the international steam and business communities, seeking practical assistance, donations as well as financial sponsorship.
The potential rewards are immense - re-establishing and enjoying a premier world destination for active steam, contributing towards the
rescue and restoration of rare locomotives (Including vintage diesels and electrics), and the reinstating of steam-age depot and lineside infrastructure. 

The restored locomotives and equipment will be made available to be enjoyed by those who assisted and supported the restoration,
but will ultimately be available to be experienced and enjoyed by the whole world - both by the casual visitor and steam enthusuast alike.
